Prayer
While the Bible is primarily a book of faith, and in fact it is the hearing of the Word that
that faith is prayer. Simply defined, prayer is communion with God; in all its various
forms; petition, supplication, thanksgiving, praise, worship, dedication, commitment,
binding and loosing, agreement, and intercession, both praying with the Spirit and
praying with the understanding, it is essentially communion with God.
While the Scriptures are replete with passages that command prayer, define prayer,
instruct in prayer, demonstrate prayer, and give examples of prayer of all kinds, there
are some passages that have universal application to the truly artful work of “effectual
fervent prayer of a righteous man” (James 5:16).
Mark 11:22-24, Matthew 18:19-20, John 14:12-14, and James 5:16 are four cornerstone
Scriptures that mark the praying of our special and very impactful Passion Teams of
New Life Family Worship Center. We have six such Passion Teams with at least four
committed members on each team. Each Passion Team meets weekly for one hour of
focused prayer, and each member is committed to at least one hour of prayer daily for
their selected arena of focus. The six Passion Teams with their specific focus are:
Weekly reports come from these teams of the supernatural manifestations and
breakthroughs that are occurring as a result of their prayers of agreement, faith,
intercession, thanksgiving, and praise. The Passion Team prayer disciplines are being
honored in wonderful ways by the Lord.
Do you have a need? Is there an area of specific need in your life, your family, school,
or profession? If you would like agreement for your prayer request, contact us with an
email to: include your name, specific prayer request, and
your email address, and include the words “prayer request” in your subject line. You will
NOT be solicited in any way. However, we would appreciate an email from you with the
same information when your prayer answer is manifest in your life. All information you
include will be handled with the utmost discretion, and your email information will be kept
