“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word
that proceeds from the mouth of God."

With that thought in mind, look to the teaching of our
Lord on prayer when He said, "Give us this day our daily
bread.”  While we understand that this teaching by the
Lord on prayer is intended as an outline of our daily
prayer life, we must
remember that "daily bread" is just that, "daily."

A daily feasting from the Word of God is vital to a
victorious Christian walk.  Always remember that “without
faith it is impossible to please God,” and that “faith
comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.  The
believer NEEDS the Word of God daily.

One of the greatest helps for any believer to delve daily
into the Word of God, to receive one’s “daily bread” is to
have a consistently Bible-based devotion on which and
with which to build faith and bring revelation.  That is the
purpose and focus
of our daily devotional presented here.  It is called the
“Second Miler.”  May each one speak directly and
specifically to your heart, edify you, encourage you, build
your faith, and when necessary, bring instruction and
correction into your life in a loving manner.
